I am a new user of the Spanish version of OnlyOffice in Colombia because on October 14, 2025 Microsoft ended support for MS Office 2013, 2016 and 2019. So, I'm testing OnlyOffice as an alternative to Microsoft Office in Spanish and I want to contribute to this project by helping to detect problems or errors. I have encountered a problem while using the OnlyOffice document editor.

The problem is this: The OnlyOffice spell checker does not work despite having made all the necessary advanced adjustments in the "Review" section, within the "Advanced settings". In addition, I have correctly enabled the "Spell Check", "Text Language" and "Document Language" function ("Spanish - Spain, International Literacy") in the Taskbar of the desktop. Despite all these adjustments, spell checking does not work in OnlyOffice en Español. This is a big problem because there are 21 countries whose mother tongue or native language is Spanish and given Microsoft's decision to end support for MS Office 2016 and 2019, a very significant number of us former MS Office users are looking for alternatives within the world of free and open source software.

Faced with this difficulty with OnlyOffice in Spanish we have to use LibreOffice in Spanish but we would like this flaw to be solved in OnlyOffice because this suite is more compatible with MS Office than LibreOffice.
